Small conversations can build stronger communities

Between March and September 2026, Culture IQ is offering 10 complimentary intercultural awareness workshops to businesses across coastal Kent.

Each workshop normally costs £1,000, but these sessions are being offered free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis as part of Culture IQ’s Kind Cultures Kent Initiative.

The aim is simple: to help local organisations better understand the cultural diversity within their teams and the communities they serve. To build stronger communities that in turn drive profit.

How do we do it. It’s simple. We talk. By engaging in active conversation as part of structured, guided, practical workshops together we help people understand cultural differences, communicate more effectively and build stronger connections across communities.

Coastal towns such as Broadstairs, Margate, Ramsgate, Deal, Dover and Folkestone bring together people from many different cultures — from visitors and seasonal workers to new residents, students and international teams. People with diverse backgrounds and different ideas of how to interact.

Kind Cultures exists to support these interactions with curiosity, empathy and kindness.

To find a new way of being together.

It starts with a conversation.

Let’s talk about it.

  • Culture shapes how we communicate, how we show respect, how we make decisions and how we interpret the behaviour of others.

  • In places where communities & visitors come from many different parts of the world, understanding these differences can make everyday interactions more positive

  • At its heart, intercultural awareness is about curiosity, empathy and recognising that there are many different ways of seeing the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Take a look at the FAQ or reach out anytime. If you’re feeling ready, go ahead and apply.

  • Culture shapes how we communicate, how we show respect, how we make decisions and how we interpret the behaviour of others. Often, when misunderstandings happen between people from different backgrounds, it isn’t because of bad intentions — it’s because we are working with different cultural expectations.

Building cultural awareness helps people communicate more clearly, work better together and create environments where everyone feels respected and able to contribute.

  • The Kind Cultures workshops are designed for businesses based in coastal Kent, particularly those in hospitality, tourism, retail and other customer-facing sectors. They are ideal for teams working with colleagues or customers from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • The workshops are primarily designed for teams within businesses or organisations. However, if you are an individual running a local service or small business in coastal Kent, you are welcome to enquire.

  • As part of the Kind Cultures pilot programme, I am offering 10 complimentary workshops between March and September 2026.

These sessions would normally cost £1,000, but they are being offered free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Each workshop is designed as a 2.5-3-hour interactive session, typically delivered as two sessions with a short break in between.

  • Workshops can be delivered in person at your workplace or online, depending on what works best for your team.

  • Nothing at all. I will bring or provide all materials needed for the session. The only thing participants need is a willingness to listen, reflect and take part in the discussion.

  • Yes. While the workshop introduces core intercultural awareness concepts, the discussion and examples are tailored to your workplace. I focus particularly on situations common in hospitality, tourism and customer-facing businesses, so the session feels practical and relevant for your team.

  • Workshops typically work best with 8–20 participants, which allows for discussion and interaction. If you have a larger team, we can explore running multiple sessions.

However, if you are an individual, or have less than 8 people in your team, please do enquire as trainings can be tailored to suit any team size.

  • Simply get in touch with rosina@culture-iq.co to express interest.

As there are only 10 complimentary sessions available, bookings will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
